Smart Oilfields Run on Operating Systems, Not Dashboard Stacks

Dashboards show status. A smart oilfield operating system needs a data foundation, intelligent applications, and closed decision loops—designed before tools.

A smart oilfield is not a thicker stack of screens. It is an operating system: a shared data foundation, intelligent applications on that foundation, and closed decision loops that turn exceptions into action across exploration, production, stations, and depots. Until those three layers are designed together, adding another dashboard usually adds noise—not operating capability.

Comidas prácticas para llevar
  1. State the operating-system thesis before shopping for tools.
  2. Fund a named data foundation—asset model, quality rules, ownership—before application pilots multiply.
  3. Scope applications against shared platform services, not eight disconnected products.
  4. Name the decision loops that close in the first release: owner, evidence, and daily/monthly cadence.
  5. Treat station and depot energy loops as proof points with equipment-level action and PDCA.
  6. Scope AI as a knowledge/report workbench with human review—not ungoverned autonomy.
